She Codes Too is proud to announce the successful collaboration with the Continuing Education Center at Al-Mustaqbal University, delivering a three-day workshop titled “Coding for Everyone.”

The workshop, which took place in from 13 September – 15 September 2024, aimed to highlight the critical role of women in technology and provide participants with an introduction to tools and technologies within the tech industry.

Throughout the course of the workshop, participants were introduced to various aspects of web development and design. The importance of women’s participation in the tech field was addressed on the first day, with insightful discussions on career opportunities and growth in the industry. The last two days revolved around hands-on training, where each trainee had the opportunity to build their own personal web page using web development languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

She Codes Too provided the workshop's curriculum and the expert trainers to ensure high-quality instruction. By the end of the workshop, 33 participants had successfully graduated, each having developed foundational skills in web design and programming.

Participants shared positive feedback, with Hussein stating, “It was an interactive and essential workshop as an introduction to the world of coding.” Shahad Alkhazraji, a translator, remarked, “In this workshop, they taught us in detail how to make our own websites,” highlighting its practical benefits for her to share her articles on the website she created.

We are excited about the impact this collaboration has had on empowering women in Babil and look forward to expanding these efforts to other provinces across Iraq. Our goal is to continue empowering women in tech, helping them secure job opportunities in the private sector.
