About the the Program

Front-End Development and Business for Women is Front-End Development and Business for Women is an 7-month program to be implemented by She Code Too (SCT) and Baghdad Business School (BBS). It is designed to empower women in the field of web development and Business to start a career in the private sector. The program with consist of three phases:

Eligibility

The eligibe Applicant for this program needs to meet the following condition:

• Must be a woman, as the program is for women only.
• Have intermediate level in English, since the material of classes will be in English.
• Able to commit to attending the classes in-person in Baghdad for 8 hours/ week ( 2 days a week) and 2 hours/week for online classes.
• Must be able to study at least 20 hours a week for 6 months.
• Not a university or institute student or full-time employee during the program because she will be required to attend classes during the week
• The applicant must be able to travel to Baghdad during the learning period, as the program will be mainly in-person for 2 days a week. ( in person classes are : Saturday and Tuesday from 11m-3pm)
• Interest in working in the private sector.
• Have a basic programming foundation.
• Must have a computer and internet access.
• Have a great will and desire to learn and be able to study on their own.

About the Curriculum

During the first phase of the program, the coding curriculum will prepare you for a career as a front-end developer. The student will start from a foundation of web development, up to advanced level, also will use the tools of web development that are required to start a career with international and local companies. At the end of phase one, there will be a capstone project and practice to pass interviews with international and local companies. For more information and details about the coding curriculum, please click HERE For phase two, participants focus on developing an entrepreneurial mindset and acquiring skills essential for successful business ventures. Workshops, interactive sessions, and case studies will be conducted to provide a comprehensive understanding of entrepreneurship essentials. The topics will include the startup ecosystem, business plan development, pitching ideas, funding sources, business strategy, marketing, accounting, legal considerations, gender equity, project management, innovation, and design thinking.

Training Hours and Location

the training will consist of a combination of in-person and online sessions, scheduled as follows:

• In-person classes will be held on two days a week, specifically on Saturdays and Tuesdays, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on each of these days.
• Online classes will take place once a week on Thursdays, lasting for 2 hours from 7-9pm.

In addition, there are also hours for self-study by the student. The location of the training will be in Baghdad/ Al-karkh

Starting and Ending Date of the program.

The program is expected to start on 6th January 2024 and ends on August 2024

The Trainers

In addition to delivering the curriculum in class, the trainers will also follow up on participants' learning progress, guide them, and support their self-study. Mentors will provide one-on-one support, answer participants' questions, and offer guidance.

Professional Certificate

Upon successful completion of the Web Development program, all alumni from this program will receive a certificate of completion from both She Code Too (SCT)and Baghdad Business School(BBS). Both(SCT, BBS) will coordinate internships and jobs for participants with International or local companies.

Refundable Tuition Fees

There will be payment of 300,000 IQD which will be fully refunded to all participants upon graduation and successful completion of the program. This amount will be paid during the first month from the beginning of the training, and upon graduation, the participant will receive the full amount. The aim of this is to contribute to encouraging our participants to take an interest in the training and complete it successfully. Please apply even if you do not have the ability to pay the amount, due to the availability of scholarships for the applicants.

About The Application

The application will be reviewed as they are received until the final deadline for application on Friday, 1st December 2023 at 11:59 PM Baghdad Time. To receive priority consideration, please submit your application as soon as possible, do not wait until the last minute. Shortlisted will be contacted for the technical test and interviews. You can save the application form and return it to it later to complete your answers. (When you save, please make sure to keep the link of the form so you can use it to return, make sure to use the same email that was used when filling out the form so that you can retrieve all the answers that were previously filled out)
