Zahraa’s Journey of Change From Low to Tech

line

Zahraa Nasser from Erbil is a law graduate and practising lawyer who decided to follow her growing passion for technology. Through the She Codes Too + DataCamp Donate Scholarship, she began learning programming and data skills, overcoming challenges along the way with the support of the She Codes Too community. Today, Zahraa is on a path that blends her legal expertise with her new technical skills, with the vision of creating innovative solutions that empower women and serve her community.

Discovering a New Passion

I always believed that my path in life should not stop at one degree or one profession. After graduating from law school and practising as a lawyer, I discovered that I had another passion equal to my passion for law—technology. Moving from the world of courts and laws to the world of programming and data was a bold and difficult step at first, but my desire to explore this field pushed me to continue.

The Scholarship Opportunity

When I heard about the DataCamp Donate scholarship through She Codes Too, I felt this was my real opportunity to start in a structured way. My goal was not just to learn a programming language, but to build a new future where I could contribute to my community and expand my professional horizons. I joined several courses, and with each part I completed, I felt one step closer to my goal.

Overcoming Challenges

I faced many difficulties in the beginning, the most important being that I came from a background far removed from technology. But the support I received from the She Codes Too community made me believe that every challenge can be overcome. I did not only learn programming, I also learned to trust more in my ability to change.

Blending Law and Technology

Today, I see myself walking a path that combines my legal expertise with my passion for technology, and I aim to use what I have learned to create solutions that serve women and open new doors for them. This experience was not just a learning journey; it was a turning point in my personal and professional life, and it made me believe that change is always possible if we have the courage to take the first step.

Looking Ahead

This is not the end of the road, but a new beginning that I believe will lead me to a greater impact—bringing together law and technology to serve my community.
