Today, Teeba works in the FinTech sector, applying her analytical skills daily while continuing to dream of launching her own tech projects. Teeba was one of the wonderful 30 participants who graduated last July from our programme. Read her interview below and discover the impact She Codes Too has had on her career.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

I am Teeba Firas, a graduate of Biomedical Informatics with distinction, specialised in Intelligent Medical Systems. My passion lies in integrating technology into all aspects of life, such as medicine, finance, and education. I currently work at an electronic payment company in the FinTech sector and aspire to launch my own projects. My interests combine technology, community work, and the arts, and I believe that balancing the practical and creative sides is the key to sustainability.

What inspired you to learn programming and enter the world of technology?

From the very beginning, I believed that technology is not just tools, but a means to create real change and make a tangible impact. I see programming as a universal language that enables us to innovate solutions to serve people and make life easier. My biggest inspiration was seeing how technology can advance any field, in addition to the presence of inspiring figures such as Raghad Al-Abboodi, who strengthened my belief in the power of women to enter this field and make a real difference.

What was your first impression when joining She Codes Too?

I felt that the programme went beyond being just a technical training; it was a community full of passion and ambition. From the first moment, I noticed the seriousness of the content and the great support from its organisers, which encouraged me to engage enthusiastically and feel a sense of belonging to a safe space for learning and growth.

How would you describe your overall experience in the Data Analysis programme?

What were your favourite moments or projects during the training?

The group projects were the most impactful for me, as they combined challenge and collaboration and allowed me to directly apply what I learned and see the results.

What’s your best memory with She Codes Too?

One of my favourite memories was participating in the Women in Tech & Business Summit. The event was an inspiring space filled with real stories and impactful experiences from pioneering women. Their words always remind me that every sincere step has the power to change our life path.

How did the mentorship sessions, guest lectures, and community events influence your experience?

These sessions added great value to my journey. They were real-life, practical experiences rather than just lectures. Every word I heard from mentors and speakers was a strong motivator to keep going. I felt that She Codes Too does more than just provide education; it builds a supportive environment that strengthens our confidence in ourselves.

What does your life look like now, both professionally and personally?

Today, I work in the FinTech field and see the programme’s impact in my daily work. Professionally, I became more confident in using analytical tools and offering innovative solutions. Personally, I became more aware of my abilities and more determined to make a real difference.

What skills or experiences helped you land your current job?

Logical data analysis and connecting it to decision-making, and Teamwork and idea exchange.

Beyond technical skills, how did the programme affect you as a person?

The programme changed the way I see myself. I learned that confidence is built through practice and experience and that while the journey may seem tough at times, it is never impossible.

Were there moments that changed how you see yourself or your future?

Yes, throughout my journey I experienced moments that made me more aware of my abilities, and I realised that success is not a final destination but a continuous journey full of experiences and lifelong learning.

How do programmes like She Codes Too change opportunities for women in technology?

Such programmes open new doors for women, giving them confidence, skills, and the space to prove themselves. They don’t just change women’s opportunities but also change society’s perception of their capabilities.

What advice would you give to women who want to follow a similar path?

Don’t wait for perfect circumstances to begin. Start from where you are and with the resources you have. Learn, experiment, and see every experience as a step forward. Most importantly, choose the right environment — support is always out there.
