Life before She Codes Too

My name is Rusul. I worked as a university lecturer, but I've always been drawn to technology and coding. I had some foundational knowledge and was eager to expand and apply it. When I was accepted into She Codes Too, I knew I was investing my time in the right place, with the right community to help me grow.

Describe your She Codes Too experience

During my time with She Codes Too, I worked on a skincare website, which turned out to be one of my favourite projects. The journey of building it was incredibly enjoyable, and the end result was something I was really proud of. The trainers were very cooperative, and we had a great team spirit—always helping each other out.

Even our mentors played a significant role, guiding us on how to effectively incorporate the information into the project.

Tell us about your best memory with She Codes Too

One of the highlights of my time with She Codes Too was the overall learning experience, which I found to be the best I've had in every way. My fellow participants were ambitious and supportive, and we shared many wonderful moments together. It was not only a great educational journey but also a memorable experience of collaboration and growth.

Beyond technical skills, what soft skills did you develop during the Bootcamp that have affected your work life? Can you provide examples?

During the She Codes Too program, I enhanced my collaboration and communication skills. Working together to solve challenges taught me the value of teamwork. I also learned to explain technical concepts more clearly, improving my ability to communicate with colleagues effectively.

How has the She Codes Too community supported you after graduation?

After graduating from She Codes Too, the community continued to support me in several valuable ways. I've had access to networking opportunities, including events and meetups, which have helped me connect with industry professionals and fellow alumni. The ongoing support from the community has also included career advice, job leads, and access to resources that have been instrumental in my continued professional development.

What’s next for you?

Moving forward, I'm excited to explore opportunities in frontend development, with a focus on creating intuitive and user-friendly interfaces. I'm also interested in expanding my knowledge in mobile app development. My goal is to advance in my career by taking on challenging projects that push my skills further and eventually lead to a leadership role in the tech industry.\
