Her journey reflects how structured learning and community support can unlock potential for women, especially in regions with limited tech access.

What inspired you to apply for the DataCamp Donate scholarship through She Codes Too?

For a while, I’d been interested in tech and data analysis and had a strong desire to learn seriously. But I always ran into challenges, especially the lack of free resources and the high cost of paid courses, which were out of reach for me. That made entering the field feel impossible, even though I was passionate about it.

When I heard about the DataCamp Donate scholarship through She Codes Too, it felt like the opportunity I had been waiting for. I finally had a clear path, and I could start learning in a structured way without financial barriers. The platform offered organized, easy-to-follow content that covered all the basics I needed to get started.

What were your goals in learning? Which courses did you take on DataCamp?

From the beginning, my goal was to learn data analysis and build a strong foundation in Python. I started with introductory courses like Introduction to Python, then moved deeper into data analysis with pandas, and learned SQL so I could work with databases. I applied what I learned in a simple project where I analysed sales data from a virtual store—cleaning the data, analyzing it, and extracting key insights using the tools I had learned.

What were your favourite topics or courses, and why?

My favourite topics were related to data analysis using Python. I felt like I had the tools to understand and work with real data.

Did you face any challenges? How did you overcome them?

At the beginning, I struggled to understand code and deal with errors. But over time, with practice, I got through those challenges by repeating exercises and watching the video lessons multiple times.

How did She Codes Too support you during the program?

She Codes Too didn’t just give us the scholarship—they supported me every step of the way. They encouraged me, shared resources, and the community of girls was very motivating. I never felt alone. On the contrary, there was a lot of communication, encouragement, and help from everyone.

Did you benefit from the She Codes Too community, shared resources, or guest speaker sessions?

Yes, I absolutely did. The discussions, the shared resources, and the positive atmosphere were all part of what made the experience so valuable.

What sets the She Codes Too community apart from others?

The sense of support. It’s not just about learning—it’s about being surrounded by a community that believes in you and lifts you up.

How has your confidence in data or tech changed since receiving this scholarship?

From the start of the scholarship until now, I’ve felt a huge boost in my confidence—especially in data. I now understand the terminology, can work on small projects, and I’ve completed over 30 courses.

What skills or knowledge are you most proud of gaining?

Definitely my skills in Python and data analysis, and the ability to clean and analyze data using real tools.

Did you earn any certifications or complete any projects you’d like to share?

Yes, I earned several certificates and completed a small sales analysis project.

Have you been able to find a job, internship, or freelance work in the field you studied?

I’m currently applying for internships and jobs in data analysis. I feel much closer to reaching my goal now.

In your opinion, how can programs like this impact women in Iraq and beyond?

I believe programs like She Codes Too can truly change the lives of many girls—especially in a place like Iraq, where access to modern education isn’t easy.

Can you share a memorable moment from your journey in this program?

One moment I’ll never forget is when I finished my first Python course. I was so happy—it felt like I had truly started achieving my dream.
