line

Mina Thamer, a Chemistry graduate from Baghdad, never imagined herself in the tech industry. However, her curiosity and drive led her to She Codes Too, where she discovered a passion for coding. Through hands-on projects, mentorship, and a supportive community, she transformed her skills and confidence. Just three months after graduating, she secured a role in the Business Solutions Department of a prestigious company. Mina was part of the Front-End Web Development and Business program, implemented by She Codes Too with the support of Baghdad Business School and the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. My Journey into Coding with She Codes Too

I’ve always aspired to be a person of influence, someone with a meaningful place in society. The tech world caught my attention because of its limitless possibilities for growth and creativity. When I discovered She Codes Too, it felt like the perfect gateway to combine my analytical skills from Chemistry with a creative, forward-thinking field like coding.

My She Codes to Experience:

When I first joined, She Codes Too, I was both excited and intimidated. I had no prior experience in programming, and I wondered if I could keep up. However, the welcoming environment, supportive mentors, and well-structured program eased my concerns.

Life After Graduation:

Today, I’m proud to say that just three months after my graduation, I started working at a prestigious company in the Business Solutions Department. The program not only provided me with the technical skills I needed to secure this role but also taught me how to present myself, solve problems creatively, and embrace challenges.

I feel like a different person. I’ve become more confident, resilient, and optimistic about the future. Before She Codes Too, I never imagined myself in the tech industry, let alone thriving in it.

The Big Picture:

Programs like She Codes Too are game changers for women in tech. They provide not just education but also a sense of community and belonging. For women in Iraq and beyond, they are breaking down barriers and creating opportunities in a field that is still male dominated.

Advice to Other Women:

To any woman considering a journey like mine, my advice is simple: Take the first step. Whether it’s joining She Codes Too, exploring the tech field, or simply starting to learn how to code, you are capable of more than you think. Don’t let self-doubt hold you back.

At the end:

This journey has taught me that life’s detours often lead to the most beautiful destinations. I’m incredibly grateful for the skills, experiences, and confidence She Codes Too has given me. It’s more than a program—it’s a life-changing opportunity.
