Q: Tell Us a little about yourself

Hi, my name is Fatima. I’m a control and automation engineer. Before I entered the She Codes Too Front-End development bootcamp, I worked as a graphic designer and marketing specialist. I only knew programming and coding from my college studies. After graduation and working in different sectors, I really missed programming. Then, I saw my friend share a story about SCT opening a bootcamp about front-end programming back in 2023, and I immediately jumped at the opportunity.

Q: What was your experience like with She Codes Too?

SheCodesToo wasn’t like other bootcamp I joined because not only did it focus on improving my coding skills, it also taught me how to think like a developer and how to work with other developers. SCT created a special community for each one of us. We had a lot of people to go to for help if we had any problems, not just with coding, but for tips on our future career path. During the bootcamp, I worked on a lot of projects which I then added to my CV and helped me get many job opportunities.

Q: Tell us about your best memory with She Codes Too

My best memories, of course, include my friends. By friends, I don’t mean only the students in the bootcamp but also the trainers, the mentors and the staff. We had a great friendship throughout the program period where We had an amazing time playing board games, listening to music, and going out together. We created a lot of good memories.

Q: What are some of the challenges you encountered along your coding journey, and how did you debug your way through them?

At first, I didn’t know how to organize my code or where and what to begin with. I fixed that by learning something called pseudocode. During my first project, I needed a lot of help, and whenever I reached out to the trainers, they responded very quickly and explained everything in detail.

Q: How has She Codes Too contributed to your career or positively impacted your life?

She Codes Too made a significant shift in my career. The connections I gained were extremely helpful. Not just that, but they also made me more confident in myself and gave me a lot of advice to help me in interviews and get the job I wanted.

Q: What’s next for you?

I’m currently working on my graduation project, which will also use the same tech stack we learned in the bootcamp, aimed at offering multiple AI services for doctors. I will continue to explore opportunities and gain work experience until I find the best fit that will refine my skills, both technical and soft.

Q: Can you share any tips or advices for She Codes Too student?

Don’t waste any time in this bootcamp! Learn as much as you can, ask plenty of questions, work on a lot of projects and do your homework. Don’t use ChatGPT! And remember, this is also a chance to have fun and make lifelong friends.
