Fatima’s Journey into Data and Growth
I am Fatima Salah, a 24-year-old Computer Engineering graduate from the Iraqi University. Currently, I work as a Digital Marketing Coordinator at Aswar Group. With a background in back-end development and a strong interest in data and databases, I have also gained hands-on experience in digital marketing. My main focus now is data analysis and automation, which I apply to improve marketing performance. I aim to further develop my expertise in data analysis and integrate it more deeply into my career.
During my studies, I was introduced to the world of technology and developed a strong interest in programming, which I chose as a field to grow in. Along the way, I discovered how much there is to learn, and I am still eager to expand my knowledge. My current focus is data analysis, as I believe every field today relies heavily on data.
I first got to know the organisation in my second year when I attended a workshop on logical thinking in programming, which was very valuable. I really liked the idea, and when I later found an opportunity to further develop and engage with the market through data analysis, I decided to take part in this experience, and it turned out to be very rewarding.
My experience in the Data Analytics course was enjoyable, valuable, and important for my career path. It helped me gain a better understanding of the market and its requirements, connect with people who share the same interests, and build a portfolio of projects that can add great value to my professional growth. The best part for me was working with Excel, as well as the projects and competitions focused on data analysis using SQL and Power BI. The best moment for me was when we started the course. It was a truly passionate and inspiring experience.
The program added new insights for me and allowed me to practice and apply what I already know more effectively. It also provided me with the fundamentals to work on more projects and deepen my knowledge in this field. After every course or program I attend, I learn to be more disciplined and focus on developing myself both professionally and personally. This program offered the same, along with the opportunity to grow in a field I am passionate about, making it truly worthwhile. After completing the final project, I felt ready to create a portfolio with multiple projects.
I am currently enhancing my expertise and practical experience in business development as a Growth Analyst, aiming to strengthen my professional profile in this field. Things haven’t changed yet, but I am actively working to make the changes I want. I prefer not to share details on public platforms.
I believe that She Codes Too is making a profound impact on women in the field of technology today, empowering those who have yet to realize their full potential and capabilities in this domain. In recent years, the program has nurtured an exceptional cohort of women, which is truly an encouraging and promising development. I encourage women to embrace learning and exploration. Programming, in particular, and the broader field of technology offer vast opportunities for the future and equip them to stay aligned with global advancements, not just within Iraq. True understanding comes through hands-on experience, enabling them to identify and pursue their genuine passions. In some cases, as in my own experience 😉, one may even discover multiple passions and find ways to integrate them successfully.
I am deeply grateful to SCT for this incredible opportunity. I am thrilled to be part of such an inspiring community, and I sincerely hope that many more women will experience growth and success as they follow this path.
